Job Summary
Cooperate in developing classroom procedures, assist in material preparation, and implement the planned program while maintaining awareness of supervising teacher goals. Carry out student supervisory duties to ensure a safe environment, collect and record money, and maintain classroom files in accordance with applicable rules. Exhibit positive behavior toward children, parents, and staff, serving as a role model while assisting students with understanding laws and regulations. Share responsibility for classroom cleanliness and develop good housekeeping skills. Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor in a light physical work setting requiring walking, lifting, and repetitive motions.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school
- Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position
- Qualifications required under the provisions of No Child Left Behind
- Associate degree
- Completion of 48 semester hours of college credits
- Successful completion of a series of WorkKeys assessments plus earn 96 contact hours of appropriate staff development
