Job Summary
Deliver Alberta Education-aligned Kindergarten programming using a blend of structured instruction and play-based, experiential approaches within small groups of 8–16 students. Adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning styles while monitoring progress through formal and informal assessments to develop Individual Program Plans. Foster a safe, inclusive environment that supports social, emotional, and cognitive development, leading small-group sessions and creating meaningful learning documentation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and specialists while maintaining strong communication with families. Support the broader Academy environment outside core hours for full-time roles, ensuring seamless experiences across learning environments. Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development. Requires a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate, willingness to work a 10-month contract, and completion of a police check and First Aid/CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interim or Permanent Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Experience working with early learners (Kindergarten, preschool, or childcare settings)
- Strong classroom management with a child-centered approach
- Ability to adapt teaching to different learning styles
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Collaborative mindset with a team-oriented approach
- Passion for early childhood development and whole-child learning
- Familiarity with early childhood pedagogies (e.g. Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or similar approaches)
- Classroom-based role within Fueling Brains Academy locations
- Small-group teaching model (8–16 students per class)
- Structured Kindergarten hours (morning program), with optional extended responsibilities for full-time roles
- Active, hands-on environment involving movement and interaction with young children
- Police check (Vulnerable Sector) prior to employment
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work a 10-month contract (September–June), aligned with the Kindergarten program calendar
- Willingness to participate in onboarding and training related to Fueling Brains' instructional model
