Job Summary
Elementary Special Education Teacher in Brooklyn, NY for Hebrew Language Academy 2. Deliver standards-based instruction to students with IEPs in reading, mathematics, and writing, using prescribed instructional methods per IEPs. Collaborate with colleagues to develop multifaceted curricula, lead differentiation and curricular modifications, monitor and report student progress, attend IEP meetings and parent conferences, and support preparation for NYS exams. Requires a Bachelor’s degree; NY teacher certification or progress toward certification is a plus; K-12 lead teaching experience and experience in urban/public charter/Title I settings are favorable. Salary range $66,000-$100,000 with benefits; in-person role based in Brooklyn, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
- K-12 lead teaching experience in a classroom setting is a plus
- Hold NY teacher certification or working towards certification is a plus
- Experience in urban, public charter, or Title I schools is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Legally authorized to work in the USA
