Job Summary
Facilitate and plan lessons for kindergarten readiness participants while fostering a safe, enjoyable classroom environment that promotes student growth and high academic standards. Prepare curriculum for youth ages 4 and 5, track progress using provided assessment tools, and collaborate with supervisors and consultants to schedule activities. Compile a summary report detailing program results at the completion of the seasonal cycle. This full-time role supports The Salvation Army's mission to meet human needs without discrimination, requiring proficiency in Microsoft Office, cultural competency with inner-city youth, and completion of mandatory background checks and health clearances.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or similar area
- 2 years experience working with preschool and/or kindergarten aged students
- experience with urban youth
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- familiarity with database applications

- Valid National Sex Offender Registry Clearance
- TB Test
- Health Physical to meet DHS compliance for licensed School Age Centers
- complete 10 hours Health and Safety Training
- CPR, First Aid and AED Training
