Job Summary
Guide a teaching team to create plans, goals, and lead hands-on activities for 4- and 5-year-old children in your classroom. Maintain open communication with parents by sharing their child's daily milestones and ensure a safe, clean environment by following essential procedures and guidelines. Work Monday through Friday with a rotating opening and closing schedule from 7am to 4pm and 9am to 6pm. This full-time role at Bright Horizons in Hopewell Junction, NY, supports early education experts and offers free college or CDA degree opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- high school diploma or GED
- 9 hours of college-level coursework in early childhood education, CDA, or an associate or bachelor's degree in early education or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children
- Must pass required state and company background checks
- Must meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
- Must comply with all applicable federal, state, local, Bright Horizons', and client site requirements concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training
- Must work in person in an early education/preschool child care center
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, or hold children with a range of weight from 10 to 40 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, or hold weight more than 40 pounds
- Must demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and otherwise fully participate in activities
- Must be able to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
- Must maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements
- Must work in the Hopewell Junction, NY area
