Job Summary
Under direct supervision, assist in the manufacturing of MOV Blocks used in the assembly of high voltage surge arrestors. Perform kiln operations including loading/unloading blocks per Process Specification and procedures (Binder Burnout Ovens). Follow safety rules and lock out tag out regulations. Read and comprehend work orders, specifications, and verbal instructions. Conduct periodic quality checks (block height, diameter, visual inspections). Participate in 5S and maintain a clean work area. Start/stop and minor-adjust equipment, track parts, log defects, operate forklift, and assist with other duties as assigned. Strong attention to detail, basic PC/tablet tasks, and ability to operate a forklift/pallet jack with training. Must read/write/speak/understand English; ability to work in hot, humid, loud, dusty environments; physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds; reliable attendance. The role is based in Shelton, CT with Hubbell Utility Solutions, focusing on manufacturing and supply chain operations for electrical infrastructure products.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack, with training
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
