Job Summary
Nurture children through purposeful play to provide care and belonging while developing relationships with members and their children. Implement curriculum and activity plans within established guidelines, supervising and participating in activities with children ranging from ages 6 weeks up to 12 years old. Make ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child, bottle feed and diaper change of infants/toddlers, and maintain required program records and equipment needs. Improvise quickly and appropriately when faced with unexpected circumstances to better meet the needs of members and their children. Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 15
- Flexible to work evenings and weekends
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Must have a passion for working with young children
- Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively
- Must have a high level of alertness, concentration, and initiative
- Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform job responsibilities
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties
- Must demonstrate initiative and sound judgment
