Job Summary
Lead educational, age-appropriate, and Christian-valued activities for children ages 6 weeks to 11 years while maintaining health, safety, and cleanliness standards. Supervise and care for children in the Kids Zone, ensuring overall safety and wellness, and implement assigned programming. Provide superior customer service to members and their children, maintain accurate attendance records, and communicate positively with staff. Attend staff meetings, complete required trainings including CPR certification within 30 days, and assist with other duties as assigned. Minimum age of 16; high school diploma preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with children or in a related field
- Ability to work well with children of various ages and abilities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule
- Capable of working as a team player
- Ability to maintain safe environment
- Obtain ASHI (CPR) certification within 30 days of employment
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds
- Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time
- Requires bending, pulling, crouching, leaning, kneeling, and walking, pushing, climbing, and jumping
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in such a way as to be easily understood by children, staff and parents
- Visual and auditory ability to supervise and respond to critical situations with children
