Kids Ministry Intern

Job Summary
Plan and execute Kids Ministry programs for birth through 5th grade, including Sundays, holidays, and special events. Recruit, train, equip, and encourage campus volunteers while participating in staff meetings to ensure cohesive ministry implementation. Maintain safety and security policies and carry out other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Dan Hays. This 20-hour/week non-exempt internship requires a teachable spirit, event planning experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Candidates must align with Westwood's Statement of Faith and attend required orientation and intensive events in September 2026 and early 2027.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with planning large-scale events
- Desire and ability to actively engage children and effectively interact with volunteers and parents
- Ability to attract, equip, resource, and mobilize a diverse group of volunteers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
- Gifted in leadership, administration, and teaching
- Must have a teachable spirit
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Ability to relate to other Westwood staff and church attenders at large
- Endorse and support Westwood's Statement of Faith
- Must be available for Orientation (September 8th, 2026)
- Must be available for Intensives (October 26-28th, 2026 and April 5-7th, 2027)
