Job Summary
Kids in Action - Teacher (After School K-5) provides a safe, nurturing after-school program for grades K-5 with developmentally appropriate activities across STEM, Arts & Crafts, Literacy, games, outdoor and music/dramatic play. Responsibilities include supervising children, planning developmentally appropriate activities, supporting individual children (1:1 when needed), participating in setup/breakdown, and completing 10 hours of EEC-aligned professional development and annual First Aid/CPR training. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or related field, classroom/camp experience, knowledge of MA EEC regulations, strong communication and teamwork, de-escalation skills, physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs, and passing Hingham Public Schools background checks. Work hours are 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 2:00pm–6:00pm, in Hingham, MA. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or related field
- Experience in a classroom or camp setting
- Familiar with MA Early Education & Care (EEC) regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Experience with de-escalation techniques
- Physically able to lift items up to 20lbs
- Clear all HPS and EEC background checks
