Job Summary
Welcome parents during drop-off and pick-up while supervising children on play structures to ensure a safe, positive experience. Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, social interaction, and participation in enrichment programs. Maintain a clean, organized space by managing equipment, toys, books, and materials. Respond promptly to emergencies following YMCA policies, report suspicious behaviors, and adhere to abuse risk management training and reporting requirements. This role supports the Madison Area YMCA's mission to create an engaging environment for children through direct supervision and structured play.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to welcome and engage with parents during child drop-off and pick-up, providing friendly and professional customer service
- Ability to supervise children using the Kids Central play structure to ensure a safe and positive experience
- Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, play, and social interaction
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe Kids Central space, including equipment, toys, books, and activity materials
- Ability to assist with the planning and facilitation of Kids Central enrichment programs and special activities
- Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, following YMCA policies and procedures
- Adherence to policies related to boundaries with youth
- Attendance at required abuse risk management training
- Adherence to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth
- Ability to report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
- Adherence to mandated abuse reporting requirements
