Job Summary
Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning for PreK through 12th grade students. Observe, evaluate, and remediate student academic performance, behavior, and social development while adapting curriculum to meet various learning styles. Monitor students across all school environments to ensure a safe, positive learning atmosphere and implement effective classroom management. Utilize data to monitor learning, design tailored lessons, and administer standardized achievement tests as required. Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate with colleagues, including Special Education staff, to support student achievement goals. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and staff information while adhering to school rules and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Texas ESL certification
- Demonstrate competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Regular and Reliable Attendance
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
- Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding information concerning students, parents, staff, and classroom incidents
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards and model behavior that is professional and responsible
- Participate in approved professional development to improve skills related to job assignment
- Follow NYOS standard procedures for communication, interaction, and discipline as outlined in the NYOS Staff Handbook
