Job Summary
Manage a caseload of vulnerable young people by conducting initial assessments of their educational, emotional, and behavioural needs, then developing and reviewing individual pupil support plans. Deliver daily attendance calls, run targeted 1:1 and small group interventions, and coordinate with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning. Regularly risk assess pupils for harm, track pastoral progress, and liaise with multi-agency professionals including courts and police stations. Maintain accurate records of all contacts and sessions in the agreed database system while ensuring safeguarding concerns are logged immediately.
Required Qualifications
- A relevant professional qualification (NVQ level 2) in working with young people, e.g. teaching, youth and community work, social work, counselling, mentoring
- Level 2 English and Maths
- Full driving license and access to a car
- Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post
- Any offer of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check
- Complete mandatory training in line with Catch22's policy and procedures
- Willingness to work in a range of settings including school, college, court, police station and young offender's institutions
- Working in a flexible manner to include occasion evening and residential trips
- Willingness to complete Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Level 5, within a selected area of expertise
