Job Summary
Partner and support wholesale distributors and independent grocery retailers with planning promotional activity, selling new products, and merchandising. Create sales programs and make presentations to customers within the area while managing existing accounts to ensure product flow and service levels meet expectations. Direct multiple brokers by assigning annual Sales and P&L objectives and manage Trade Spend for promotions and pricing. Collaborate with the Marketing department using syndicated market data to develop sales opportunities, conduct store calls for price checking and slotting, and resolve customer issues. Travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays, with the ability to stand for four hours and lift 30-pound boxes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or three (3) years of related sales experience
- Able to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays for up to 5 days at a time
- Able to stand for at least 4 hours
- Can regularly lift and move 30 pound boxes/buckets on/off shelves or cart/hand-truck
- Can repeatedly twist, turn, kneel, stoop, stand, rotate, bend, push or pull to move 30 pounds
- Excellent communication skills a necessity
- Must be self-motivated
- Must have a good work ethic
- Must be dependable
- Must be organized
- Must possess exceptional people skills
- Must have the ability to follow projects to completion
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Nielsen Product Analysis
- Two (2) years' experience in Food Industry
- Direct experience driving mix and margin of meat sales in an independent retail sales environment
- Experience presenting data to new and prospective customers
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
