Job Summary
Key Account Manager for Retina in Colorado/Utah focused on maintaining existing business while expanding sales in a defined geographic region. Responsibilities include meeting or exceeding quarterly sales revenue and product goals, developing new customers while protecting the current base, closing business deals promptly, and acting with urgency in customer care. The role requires calling on ophthalmic healthcare professionals (physicians, optometrists, surgery centers, and staff), building critical physician and staff relationships, and collaborating with internal departments. Requires travel throughout the defined geography (roughly 75-80% in the field with overnights). Utilize Salesforce CRM and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Maintain deep knowledge of the ophthalmic product portfolio (including IHEEZO, Triesence, BYOOVIZ, OPUVIZ, VEVYE, FLAREX, FRESHKOTE, TRIESENCE, BYQLOVITM, ILEVRO, NATACYN, VERKAZIA, MELT-300, MELT-210, H-N08, CR-01). Demonstrates entrepreneurial mindset to develop and grow territory business, communicate product advantages, and provide solutions to clinicians. Bilateral collaboration with internal resources to support quarterly action plans and problem accounts. 75% weekly travel with overnights; ability to travel within assigned geography and perform in-person customer engagements. Bachelor’s degree required and 3+ years of buy-and-bill or medical device sales experience; ophthalmology/retina experience preferred. Proficient in Salesforce and Microsoft Office; strong presentation, interpersonal, and written communication skills; ability to analyze data, forecast opportunities, and manage expenses responsibly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 3+ years of buy-and-bill sales, and/or medical device sales experience
- Ophthalmology experience in Retina is preferred
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned geography with about 80% field travel (overnights)
- Proficient with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Salesforce CRM
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Ability to build and foster longstanding customer relationships
- Ability to absorb product/practice information quickly and offer solutions
- Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans
