Key Account Manager, Oncology (Chicago)

Job Summary

Achieve or exceed territory sales objectives by developing and executing business plans that prioritize high-value oncology accounts and growth opportunities. Manage the territory through disciplined account planning, customer engagement, and market analysis to support appropriate product adoption and achieve performance goals. Build strategic relationships with oncology healthcare providers, hospital systems, and integrated delivery networks while delivering compliant clinical and product information. Partner with internal teams on access, reimbursement, and patient support initiatives to overcome barriers and drive adoption. Execute launch readiness activities and lifecycle support for new products and indications within the assigned geographic area. Complete all administrative responsibilities including CRM documentation, call reporting, and expense management while maintaining full compliance with FDA regulations and company policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of successful pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialty healthcare, or related healthcare sales experience with demonstrated achievement against sales objectives
  • Experience managing complex healthcare accounts and developing relationships across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Experience selling specialty pharmaceutical products or managing account-based selling models
  • Strong understanding of healthcare delivery systems and pharmaceutical commercialization
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to travel as required, including occasional overnight travel
  • Must reside within the assigned territory or be willing to relocate prior to start date
  • Strong scientific aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex clinical information
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and institutional stakeholders
  • Strong account planning, territory management, and business analysis skills
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and results orientation

Desired Qualifications

  • Oncology, hematology, specialty pharmacy, or buy-and-bill experience
  • Experience selling into community oncology practices, academic medical centers, hospitals, or IDNs
  • Experience supporting product launches, relaunches, acquired brand integrations, or specialty pharmaceutical commercialization
  • Established relationships within oncology accounts or healthcare systems within the assigned geography
  • Understanding of specialty distribution models, medical benefit reimbursement, pathways, protocols, and oncology practice workflows
