Job Summary
Magnet Coordinator - School supports and coordinates magnet programming by partnering with District and Building Leadership Teams, District Administration, teachers, and community partners to implement Magnet school initiatives. Responsibilities include collaborating on program development, delivering professional learning, coaching teachers using the Understanding by Design framework, promoting equity and culturally responsive pedagogy, facilitating adult learning experiences, leading professional learning communities, and supporting recruitment and family/community relations. The role may be assigned to a single Magnet school or multiple sites and requires a Standard Teaching License with five years of teaching experience; compensation aligns with the Teacher Master Contract and may include additional days. The district emphasizes equitable access and continuous growth through professional learning, collaboration, and leadership in line with district vision.
Required Qualifications
- Standard Teaching License with five years of teaching experience
- FTE release positions preferred
- Knowledge of Understanding by Design (UbD) framework
- Ability to train and coach teachers in professional learning settings
- Knowledge of equity principles and culturally responsive pedagogy
- Experience with PLCs and professional learning activities
- Knowledge of Iowa Core Standards and Standards-Based Grading
- Mentoring and coaching skills
- Ability to design, present, and facilitate adult learning experiences
- Experience collaborating with district and school teams and community partners
