Job Summary
Operation, maintenance, and sanitation of the City Animal Services Shelter with extensive public interaction and cash handling. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing kennels, feeding and watering animals, processing intake, assisting with adoptions and adoption events, handling routine forms and records, responding to inquiries, supporting Animal Service Officers, and ensuring safety. Requires knowledge of licensing/quarantine laws, ability to communicate effectively, operate janitorial equipment, and maintain needed certifications; must have a Texas driver’s license and be able to lift up to 50 pounds; euthanasia training must be completed within 120 days of hire. Basic Animal Control Certification is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or its equivalent
- State of Texas Class C driver's license
- State of Texas Euthanasia Training Course completion and certification required within 120 days of hire date
- Basic Animal Control Certification preferred
