Job Summary
Lead supervised recreational activities for children ages 5-12 through play, art, and culture, including indoor crafts, outdoor games, hikes, and tidepool exploration. Greets and registers guests and children, manages session communications, and prepares activity setups. Instructs children while assisting with sunscreen application, washroom breaks, and swim interactions. Process room charges, serve snacks, and maintain the Charlie Cart project. Collaborate with the activities manager to plan educational programs, handle phone reservations, and report safety concerns or hazardous conditions. Work 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with flexible scheduling and travel between hotels when needed. Requires Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification, background check, TB clearance, and willingness to attend mandatory meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- State-required paperwork such as background check and fingerprinting
- Medical reports completed by physician/NP/medical professional to fulfill State requirements
- TB clearance
- Must be willing to complete the continuing education requirements needed (16 hours annually)
- Must be willing to fill out necessary paperwork as per State requirements
- At least 18 years old
- high school graduate (for program leaders)
- Must be willing to be scheduled between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
- flexible days of the week as determined by the manager
- Travel between 2 hotels when needed
- Must have the ability to communicate with aloha verbally and in writing to employees, manager and guests/clients
- Ability to communicate over the phone in a respectful, professional and friendly manner
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children-whether a paid or unpaid volunteer activity a plus
