Job Summary
Kaqchikel Interpreter providing in-person interpretation at client service sites, relaying deadlines and questions between staff and minors, assisting minors in communicating concerns, and offering translation/interpretation to orient minors to community resources. Role supports staff with cultural context, participates in special projects, and may use telephone or video platforms as needed; travel to client sites across the United States is required, with an emphasis on on-site interpretation and potential 24/7 availability. Requires working proficiency (ILR 2+) in English and Kaqchikel, a valid driver's license, US work authorization without sponsorship, and may require a T2/Public Trust clearance; prior foster care or medical care experience is preferred. This is a temporary, full-time position performed at various client sites nationwide, with travel requirements for remote locations.
Required Qualifications
- Must have working proficiency (ILR 2+) in English and the target language
- This position requires a valid driver's license
- This position is open only to individuals authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- May be required to obtain a T2, Public Trust clearance
