Job Summary
Linguist roles across Yorktown Systems Group and The Unconventional to support current and future foreign language requirements, including interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and foreign-language instruction. Open evergreen requisition spanning multiple language-support needs with opportunities across the YSG/TU portfolio; candidates may be considered for a range of language-support roles. Must meet LSS qualifications (CAT I–III) with ILR English proficiency levels and security-clearance requirements; travel may be required; remote and CONUS-based postings available (e.g., Huntsville, AL and San Diego, CA). The role emphasizes ability to work under pressure, collaborate in a team, and deliver accurate, culturally appropriate translations and interpretations.
Required Qualifications
- CAT I linguists: ILR level 2+ in English; local hiring options; security vetting.
- CAT II linguists: ILR level 2+ in English; US citizens; security clearance considerations; potential interim SECRET access.
- CAT III linguists: ILR level 3 in English; US citizens; TOP SECRET with SCI access or interim TS with SCI access.
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students.
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations between English and target language; perform consecutive interpretation; understand cultural contexts.
