Job Summary
Conduct regular alcohol and drug abuse counseling sessions, group sessions, and intake/readmission services while orienting patients to treatment operations. Develop and revise patient treatment plans, collect comprehensive assessment data, and make appropriate referrals with necessary follow-ups. Provide crisis intervention, coordinate care with community providers, and perform OBOT services. Deliver in-service training to staff and participate in required federal, state, and local regulatory trainings. Ensure adherence to program policies, schedules, and accrediting agency standards while managing caseloads and supporting diverse patient populations.
Required Qualifications
- Kansas Licensed Counselor (tLAC - LAC - PLPC - LPC - LMAC - LMSW)
- Masters or Bachelors degree in human service related field
- Current counseling credentials
- Ability to make decisions and use proper judgment with confidential and sensitive issues
- Ability to deal appropriately with patient and team members in stressful or other undesirable situations
- Ability to react quickly and make effective decisions
- Sufficient knowledge and understanding of human behavior to show potential for rehabilitating drug dependent patients
- Knowledge of the substance abuse population, treatment planning and the field of human social services
- Compliance with federal and state regulations regarding certification, licensure, and degree
