Job Summary
Responsible for managing the movement, storage, and handling of materials within a warehouse or production environment. Supervises all aspects of sheet metal including raw material, punched parts, and formed parts. Assists the Fabrication Material Handling Team to improve workflow, conduct routine meetings for continuous improvement, enhance inventory accuracy through weekly counts, manage defective parts, and create Kanban boards. Requires strong communication skills, basic knowledge of QAD or ERP systems, and familiarity with inventory management systems.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication, facilitation skills, and the ability to foster team collaboration
- Blueprint Reading
- Ability to use calipers, protractors, and tape measures
- Good Verbal / Written / Listening / and Communication Skills
- Ability to demonstrate basic computer use and knowledge including basic Excel
- Ability to demonstrate Teamwork and Collaboration
- QAD or ERP Software
- Basic Lean Manufacturing
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP)
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to be on your feet and walk throughout the plant for the entire shift (minus standard break periods)
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. and wear all required PPE
