Job Summary
Kalmar Ottawa Service Technician II will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems on Kalmar Ottawa equipment. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, inspections, failure analysis, welding, and major component repairs while ensuring equipment meets manufacturer standards. Maintain accurate service documentation, manage parts and supplies, and keep vehicles and work areas safe and organized. Champion a Safety-First culture, complete technical certifications, and support service leadership in attracting and developing top talent. Travel to customer locations, participate in an on-call rotation, and demonstrate strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous learning and technical development.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in forklift repair, heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, or a related mechanical field
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver's license
- Personal tool set
- Ability to travel to customer locations
- Lift up to 75 pounds
- On-call rotation participation
