Job Summary
Conduct individual and group counselling to youth in a residential treatment setting while developing and implementing structured therapeutic programming. Support case management, including behavior management and treatment planning, and liaise with multidisciplinary professionals and family members. Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs, intake reports, and treatment team minutes, while ensuring a safe environment free from abuse. Participate in regular staff meetings and adhere to organizational policies and confidentiality requirements. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Services, Social Sciences, or a related field
- Certified Addictions Counsellor Level II designation
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Successful completion of Child Welfare Information System check
- Successful completion of Criminal Record Check
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Current ASIST training
- Current CPI training
- Knowledge of current addictions treatment models and best practices
- Understanding of youth at-risk behaviours
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Understanding of safety procedures
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with youth
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Personal integrity
