Job Summary
Conduct psychological assessments for children and youth receiving services within Residential Programs, preparing written reports and recommendations to support treatment and care planning. Provide individual counselling, therapeutic support, and clinical guidance to residential staff and leadership while participating in case consultations and treatment planning discussions. Support crisis intervention and critical incident response as required, ensuring all services adhere to professional standards, legislation, and organizational policies. Travel between Residential Services locations to meet operational and client needs. Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation and collaborate with internal and external providers. This role offers a flexible, mutually arranged schedule based on client needs.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Psychology from a recognized institution
- Registered Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists
- Demonstrated experience conducting psychological assessments for children and youth
- Experience providing counselling and therapeutic interventions
- Experience working with children, youth, and families with complex behavioural, emotional, mental health, or trauma-related needs
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Strong assessment, counselling, and crisis intervention skills
- Knowledge of child and youth mental health, behavioural challenges, and trauma-informed practice
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond effectively in dynamic environments
