Job Summary
Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and minor repairs. Conduct preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of HVAC systems and building equipment. Inspect facilities and grounds to identify maintenance needs, prioritize repairs, and coordinate external contractors. Maintain building interiors and exteriors, including lawn care, snow removal, and general cleanliness. Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner while complying with organizational policies and occupational health and safety standards. This role supports the Residential Services Manager at the Blood Tribe Youth Ranch in Stand Off, Alberta, ensuring safe and functional environments for children and families within the Kainaiwa Children's Services Corporation.
Required Qualifications
- Facility Operations and Maintenance Certificate or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum three years of general maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems
- WHMIS Certificate or ability to obtain
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Successful completion of CWIS and CPIC clearance checks
- Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance and diagnose mechanical issues
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple maintenance requests
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, walking, and working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information
