Job Summary
K9 Trainer to independently implement all elements of service dog training for veterans, including basic to advanced obedience, applying a Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive approach, maintaining records, evaluating dogs, and coordinating training activities and public access exposure across on-campus and program locations. Needs strong communication, adaptability, and ability to work with teams; expected to perform in physically active settings with dogs, including kennel operations, training management, and community outreach. Requires driving capability and comfort with media interactions.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of professional animal training experience or graduation from apprenticeship program
- Experience working with purpose bred and shelter dogs preferred
- Kennel experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and meet policy requirements for company auto insurance.
