K9 Handler role for Andy Frain Services in the Atlanta, GA area focusing on armed gun-detection canine operations. Requires certified canine handlers with 3+ years in law enforcement or military canine handling, willingness to live with and care for a police canine, and to perform duties including incident response, standby, client demonstrations, and weekend/night shifts. Includes certifications, firearms training, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with jurisdictional requirements; position demands physical fitness and the ability to lift up to 90 pounds, with adherence to all safety and policy guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Single purpose canine handler certificate
- Dual purpose canine handler certificate
- Three (3) or more years law enforcement canine handling experience
- Three (3) or more years military canine handling experience
- Willingness to remain with the program for at least three years
- Willingness to care for and house the canine at residence per policies
- Provide a secure outdoor area for the canine
- Physical fitness related to tasks of canine handling
- Pass firearms training and department qualification
- Valid driver’s licenses and clean driving record
- Maintain annual canine certifications
- Must maintain vehicle per company policies
- Capability to perform searches with assigned canine at designated sites
- Adhere to all training, licensing, and instruction required in the jurisdiction
