Job Summary
Armed K9 Handler for Andy Frain Services in the Atlanta, GA area with a focus on canine health, welfare, and training; requires active or obtainable Single/Dual purpose canine handler certificates, 3+ years of law enforcement or military canine handling, willingness for incident/emergency response, client demonstrations, and availability for weekends, holidays, nights, and overnights; duties include maintaining certifications, handling/maintaining the assigned canine, completing training and records, and complying with firearms and policy requirements; residence must accommodate a canine and kennel, with secure outdoor area and home-owner consent if applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Single purpose canine handler certificate or ability to obtain prior to commencing work
- Dual purpose canine handler certificate or ability to obtain prior to commencing work
- Three (3) or more years law enforcement canine handling experience or three (3) or more years military canine handling experience
- Expressed willingness to remain with the program for at least three years
- Expressed willingness to care for and house the canine at handler's residence
- Provide a secure outdoor area for the canine
- Possess a strong desire to work with canines and train the animal
- Demonstrate physical fitness abilities (lifting, carrying, climbing, balancing) with canine equipment
- Must have valid driver’s licenses and clear driving record for last three years
- Must maintain annual canine certifications
- Must be able to pass firearms training and department qualification
- Must wear prescribed gear (vest, duty belt) and perform duties while armed
