Job Summary
Provide academic assistance by delivering group and individualized instruction, correcting student work, and monitoring progress while arranging classroom equipment and serving as a proctor during testing. Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and playgrounds by creating awards for positive behavior, resolving conflicts, and reporting discipline issues to staff. Maintain accurate records of attendance, health data, and student behavior according to regulatory requirements. Serve as a bus driver or bus monitor for school and activity buses, ensuring all state board qualifications and certifications are maintained at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children
- Ability to solve minor problems
- Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion
- Must maintain appropriate bus driver certification at all times
