K-8 Teacher - 5th Grade Teacher

K-8/5th Grade teacher position focused on fostering the academic, social, emotional, and physical growth of students. Responsibilities include using varied instructional materials and techniques to support student achievement, applying appropriate developmental practices, maintaining accurate records (attendance, health records, grade books, report cards, folders), ensuring a well-kept and safe classroom, implementing effective classroom management, submitting lesson plans weekly, communicating with parents about student progress, collaborating with school personnel, participating in professional development, and complying with state and parish education regulations. The role also involves preparing for and participating in evaluations, planning for and supporting individual differences, and using diagnosis/placement methods to support student success. Requires a college degree and valid Louisiana teaching credential, with the expectation to teach within the 5th grade in a Metairie, LA setting (school year structure of 183 days). Must communicate effectively in English, operate classroom equipment, and be able to support students including those requiring special education accommodations.
