K-8 Teacher - 2nd Grade Teacher

K-8 Teacher – 2nd Grade role in Metairie, LA. Responsibilities include planning and delivering instruction, using varied instructional materials, maintaining accurate records (attendance, health records, report cards, class lists, folders), implementing classroom management techniques, preparing weekly lesson plans, and communicating progress to parents. Must promote students’ mental, physical, emotional and social growth; support development with appropriate methods and resources; and align with Louisiana laws and parish policies. Work environment is school-based with day-to-day duties at the assigned site; requires ability to operate classroom equipment and support special education needs when required. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree and a valid teaching certificate or eligibility for licensure; 183-day work year; commensurate salary based on degree and experience.
