Job Summary
Deliver specially designed instruction aligned with each student's IEP goals for students with mild to moderate disabilities. Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and provide co-teaching support while participating in IEP, 504, and Child Study Team meetings. Coordinate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers to maintain legally required documentation and progress notes per MDE standards. Communicate regularly with families on student progress and home support strategies, providing accommodations and modifications for assessments as outlined in each student's IEP.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a special education endorsement
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods
