Job Summary
The Media Teacher oversees the school media center functions, including supervising students, circulating and maintaining technology materials, and supporting staff and students in using digital media. The role develops programs leveraging information literacy, information, research, reading, and digital citizenship literacies; programs may address library, research, literature, and technology; responsibilities include coordinating instructional materials, assisting with research and technology support, staying current in the field, record-keeping, parental involvement, behavior standards, displays, budget support, and collaboration with teachers to plan and deliver instructional units that engage students with technology and information skills.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate (Elementary)
- Educational Technology (NP) preferred
- Experience with elementary and middle school students
- Ability to design and implement programs for diverse learners
- Outstanding communication skills
- Excellent observation and analytical skills
