K - 5 Teacher Assistant-Exceptional Children

Conduct curriculum review, design, and implementation of instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives under the direction of the EC teacher. Assist with diagnosing and evaluating student abilities, monitoring progress, adjusting instruction, and planning programs of study that meet individual student needs. Create a conducive classroom environment, assess student accomplishments, provide progress reports, and refer students for alternative services. Collaborate with department and grade-level teachers, attend meetings, and serve on committees as assigned. Maintain accurate records, adhere to state statutes and school board policies, and take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities. This 10-month role reports to the Director of Special Services and requires a high school diploma.
