Job Summary
K-5 Teacher at Elon Elementary responsible for planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students in grades K-5, maintaining an engaging classroom environment, monitoring student outcomes, and communicating with students, parents, staff and the community. The role requires developing, selecting, and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet diverse student needs, maintaining records, and ensuring safety and order in the classroom. Duties include planning a program of study aligned with ABSS curriculum, delivering instruction to designated classes on schedule, motivating students, collaborating with administrators and staff, supervising teacher aides/volunteers, administering standardized assessments, and performing other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an applicable field for applicable level(s)
- Must hold a valid Teacher’s License issued by the state of NC in applicable field and for level assigned
- Spanish Speaking (Preferred)
- National Board Certification (Preferred)
- Demonstrated record of achieving Highly Qualified status on evaluations (Preferred)
