Job Summary
Provide supplemental instruction in Reading and deliver enrichment activities to support student learning and social development. Organize and present general instruction while managing instructional time and monitoring student performance. Establish standards for student behavior and coordinate support for individual and group needs. Use varied instructional materials and technology to follow the curriculum, adapting decisions based on student levels. Maintain inventory records and consult with parents and teachers to enhance learning outcomes. Perform other related duties as assigned within the assigned location during the school day.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an applicable field for applicable level(s)
- Valid driver's license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
- Must be able to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools such as computers, copiers
- Ability to read a variety of correspondence, reports, handbooks, forms, lists, etc.
- Ability to prepare correspondence, simple reports, forms, instructional materials, etc. using prescribed format
- Ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to manage instructional time
- Ability to manage student behavior
- Ability to consult with parents, teachers and the community to enhance the learning of students
- Ability to monitor student performance
- Ability to interact within the educational environment
- Ability to perform non-instructional duties as assigned
- Experience with varied forms of technology
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds of force
- Required to work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Required to come into direct contact with ABSS staff, students and the public
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer NC teaching license in the subject area that will be taught
