Job Summary
Conduct supplemental instruction in reading and deliver enrichment activities tailored to individual student needs. Manage instructional time while monitoring student performance and behavior to ensure effective participation. Utilize varied technology and classroom tools to prepare materials, maintain inventory records, and coordinate support for diverse learners. Consult with parents and teachers to enhance educational outcomes and adhere to district policies and objectives. Requires a Bachelor's degree and valid driver's license; works less than 25 hours during the school day for 10 months.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an applicable field for applicable level(s)
- Valid driver's license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
- Ability to meet the needs of all learners
- Ability to coordinate and continuously support instruction
- Ability to analyze situations, determine possible options, and make appropriate decisions based on the facts
- Ability to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools such as computers, copiers
- Ability to read a variety of correspondence, reports, handbooks, forms, lists, etc.
- Ability to prepare correspondence, simple reports, forms, instructional materials, etc. using prescribed format
- Ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to manage instructional time
- Ability to manage student behavior
- Ability to consult with parents, teachers and the community to enhance the learning of students
- Ability to monitor student performance
- Ability to interact within the educational environment
- Ability to perform non-instructional duties as assigned
- Experience with varied forms of technology
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds of force
- Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Must be able to come into direct contact with ABSS staff, students and the public
- Must be able to work during the school day
- Must be able to work less than 25 hours per week
- Must be able to work for 10 months per year
Desired Qualifications
- NC teaching license in the subject area that will be taught
