K-5 Literacy Interventionist

Job Summary
K-5 Literacy Interventionist provides targeted literacy instruction and intervention services to elementary students, delivering evidence-based reading instruction aligned to the Science of Reading and Nevada standards, differentiating supports to meet diverse student needs, administering and analyzing literacy assessments, monitoring progress, and collaborating with teachers, families, and district staff to implement MTSS-driven interventions and literacy initiatives. The role involves supporting English Learners and students with disabilities, coordinating with PLCs and IEP processes, maintaining accurate intervention records, and contributing to district literacy goals through data-informed instructional practices and program resources.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nevada Teaching License issued by the Nevada Department of Education
- Appropriate endorsement(s) required by the Nevada Department of Education
- Experience in elementary or secondary literacy instruction preferred
- Training and/or experience in reading intervention, structured literacy, or the Science of Reading preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable
- Knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction and intervention practices
- Knowledge of the Science of Reading and structured literacy practices
- Knowledge of the Nevada Academic Content Standards related to English Language Arts
- Knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), intervention systems, and progress monitoring practices
- Knowledge of literacy screening, diagnostic assessments, and student data analysis
- Knowledge of differentiated instructional practices for diverse student populations, including English Learners and students with disabilities
- Knowledge of educational technology, literacy intervention programs, and instructional resources
- Knowledge of district policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements related to student records and FERPA
- Ability to differentiate instruction based on student learning needs and assessment data
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with students, families, and staff
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all situations
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to support district literacy initiatives and school improvement efforts
- Ability to adapt instructional practices to meet changing student and program needs
- Ability to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment focused on student growth and achievement
- Skill in delivering targeted literacy interventions to individual students and small groups
- Skill in analyzing assessment data to identify student needs and monitor progress
- Skill in implementing evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions
- Skill in classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Skill in written and verbal communication with students, staff, families, and administrators
- Skill in organization, documentation, and maintaining accurate student intervention records
- Skill in collaborating effectively with teachers, administrators, instructional staff, and support personnel
- Skill in utilizing educational technology and intervention platforms to support instruction
