Job Summary

Teach across elementary, middle, and high school levels within Uncommon Schools by implementing the network curriculum and meeting high academic standards. Responsibilities include analyzing assessments to inform differentiated instructional practices, creating a positive and structured learning environment aligned with school values, and communicating effectively with students, families, and colleagues. Stay engaged in continual professional growth through annual orientation and ongoing instructional training, and participate in grade-level and school-wide activities. Strong candidates demonstrate a relentless drive to improve students’ minds and lives, a commitment to urban youth achieving excellence, and the ability to implement feedback from school leaders. Related experience in schools or urban communities is preferred; formal certification and master’s degree are helpful but not required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher by the time employment begins
  • For experienced teachers: minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred
  • Valid State Certification and Master's degree are helpful but not required
  • Experience or passion working with urban youth and commitment to Uncommon’s educational philosophy
  • Bachelor’s degree and GPA requirements must be satisfied prior to employment
