Job Summary
Responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality educational program to meet students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. The special education teacher partners with guardians and the support team to develop, implement, and monitor the student IEP, delivering differentiated instruction aligned to state and district standards, collaborating with parents, counselors, and administrators to resolve issues, and leading through effective communication and assessment to ensure student growth and compliance with IEP requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Iowa Teaching License (appropriate endorsement code for teaching assignment)
- Knowledge of subject, curriculum, and effective teaching methods
- Previous classroom teaching experience
- Experience working in a culturally diverse setting
- Advanced degrees/certifications as appropriate to the position
