Job Summary
The Instructional Coach for K-1 ELA will help ensure research-based best practices are implemented consistently across grade levels and departments, analyze student data, and collaborate with administration to prescribe instructional practices. The role provides support and/or professional development for staff, with responsibilities including facilitating coaching and staff development, and applying knowledge of MTSS, Structured Literacy, PA Core Math standards, and equity considerations in education reform. The successful candidate will hold or be eligible for a Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate, have a strong academic record and references, and complete required background checks and interviews as part of the local hiring process.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Master’s Degree Preferred
- Level II Pennsylvania Instructional certificate
- Minimum of five (5) years of satisfactory classroom experience
- Knowledge and use of MTSS, Structured Literacy, PA Core Math standards
- Knowledge of equity issues in current education reform
- Candidates must hold or be eligible for a Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate in the appropriate area
- Strong academic record and educational references
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of current educational research and participate in interviews
- Act 34 PSP Criminal Record Check, Act 114 FBI Criminal History Check, Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance, Act 24/82 PDE 6004 form (as required)
