Job Summary
The Director of Finance oversees the hotel’s financial operations, supervising accounting functions (accounts receivable/payable, auditing, payroll, general accounting), planning and implementing financial procedures, approving purchases within budgets, producing financial analyses and forecasts, managing cash handling, preparing financial reports (income, expenses, earnings, P&L), monitoring inventories, training staff to interpret budgets and financial statements, managing HR-related processes for the hotel, ensuring tax compliance and government reporting, coordinating audits, and maintaining internal controls in support of the General Manager and corporate accounting oversight.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in financial management
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting
- Proficiency in financial software, accounting systems, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills for managing accounting staff and training management teams on fiscal responsibilities
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ability to manage audits, tax filings, and government reports
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
