Job Summary
Coaches JV girls volleyball at Desert Mountain High School, focusing on game strategies and skill development. Responsibilities include assisting with organizing meetings, assessing players’ skills and assigning positions, developing regular practice schedules for individual and team development, coaching players on rules, equipment, and techniques, observing performance and communicating needs to the Head Coach, determining game strategy based on team abilities, maintaining student-athlete behavioral standards, monitoring academic eligibility, handling injury procedures, and coordinating parent communications. May participate in activities such as parent nights, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies; supports equipment and records management and ensures nondiscriminatory practices. May drive athletes using district transportation and must provide proof of insurance as requested. Must comply with DPS FPCC and NFHS certifications and attach required documentation to the application.
Required Qualifications
- Prior coaching experience preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona FPCC
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certificate
- NFHS Concussion in Sports Certificate
- NFHS First Aid, Health, and Safety Certificate/CPR (preferred)
- NFHS Cheer and Dance Safety Certificate (applicable for Cheer, Dance and Spiritline)
