Job Summary
Lead, mentor, and coach a junior varsity cheerleading team for the 2026-2027 school year under the leadership of the Head Cheerleading Coach. The role involves regular interaction with students, parents, and the community, and requires after-school, evening, and weekend availability as dictated by the athletic department. Candidates must hold required certifications and trainings and have prior high school coaching experience. They should demonstrate superior knowledge of cheerleading skills, techniques, conditioning, and training, and uphold professional conduct and ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Coaches should demonstrate a superior knowledge of skills, techniques, conditioning and training related to Cheerleading.
- Coaches should possess at least one year of successful high school coaching experience as an assistant coach, head coach, or equivalent experience.
- Coaches must possess a valid First Aid and Adult CPR certificate or secure them prior to the start of the season.
- Coaches must possess a Connecticut Coaching Permit or obtain one prior to the season.
- Coaches must possess the ability to work cooperatively within an education environment that emphasizes the successful psychological, social, and emotional development of its youth.
- Coaches must possess the ability to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the appropriate job description.
- Coaches must represent the school on the highest professional level with dignity, integrity, strength of character, and must exhibit ethical behavior.
- The coach must exhibit oral and ethical behavior, demonstrate dedication and loyalty to the school, the Athletic program, the Athletic Director, and other coaches.
