Job Summary
Monitor project progress, analyze schedules, and enforce quality control while managing design, contract, and communications for multi-phased construction projects. Execute site oversight, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies to maintain client expectations. Prepare accurate documentation, process invoices and purchase orders, and advocate for the client during disputes or change orders. Directly interface with construction teams, vendors, and client decision-makers across strategic planning, budgeting, and procurement phases. Maintain relationships with trade associates and professional organizations. Requires 3+ years of construction project management experience, proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6, and ability to read construction drawings.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in construction project management
- thorough understanding of the building design and construction process
- Construction management experience related to base building, commercial, cultural, life sciences, corporate fit-out and/or developer work
- Experience with site construction
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Growing technical knowledge of major building systems including MEP, FLS
- Understanding and growing knowledge of scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6
- Proficient in essential software applications, including MS Office, MS Project or Primavera P6, Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Nitro), and project management platforms such as Procore or equivalent
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving, presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Experience with construction oversite, design management, contract management and project communications
- Responsible for monitoring progress in the field, schedule analysis, and quality control
- Opportunity to build trust with and have direct interface with the construction team and client decision-makers
- Participate in high level meetings, including strategic planning, budgeting, scheduling, initiation, procurement, execution, monitoring, and closeout phases of the project
- Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Oversee and prepare accurate project documentation for all phases of the project
- Advocate on behalf of the client during disputes, disagreements, modifications or change orders
- Participate in tracking and processing invoices, purchase orders, and other financial commitments, exposures and obligations
- Maintain relationships with the wider construction industry, trade associates, vendors, and professional organizations
