Job Summary
Develop and design ground system solutions to optimize efficiency, security, and sustainability within the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture framework. Conduct comprehensive studies, define requirements, engineer system architectures, and oversee development for enterprise services and operations centers. Support projects from initiation through sustainment, document designs, and create implementation and test plans. Collaborate with system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and project managers to ensure integration and compliance with standards. Work with senior engineers to learn MDSEA SE processes and define tasks and schedules with Project Managers. Maintain an active DoD Secret clearance and reside in a qualified HUBZone or relocate to Colorado Springs for day shift duties.
Required Qualifications
- 2, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
- 6, or more, months of directly related experience in systems engineering related to satellite ground systems or IT systems
- fundamental understanding of Requirements Analysis and Management principles
- understanding of the System Engineering V-Model and engineering lifecycle
- demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision
- active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- home address lies in a qualified HUBZone or be willing to relocate to a HUBZone
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related field (e.g., Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)
- active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
- experience working within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or other Department of Defense (DoD) organizations
- Space operations experience
- competency in developing and editing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) (or equivalent framework)
- ability to logically decompose complex mission systems into manageable components
- experience in developing detailed implementation plans for new solutions and systems
- track record of effectively troubleshooting and applying critical thinking skills to resolve IT system dependencies, impacts, and sustainability challenges
- familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- familiarity with cloud computing (server and serverless) technologies (e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Red Hat Openshift)
- experience working with SysML and MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler (No Magic), IBM Rhapsody, or Sparx Enterprise Architect
- certifications in relevant areas (e.g., INCOSE ASEP, CompTIA Security+)
