Job Summary
Junior System Administrator (Network Operations Centre) to support network and system administration within the Datacentre and Campus Network Services team for the European Commission. Ideal for a motivated graduate or early-career profile, with growth potential as you learn to manage real-world infrastructure, support daily operations, and contribute to new projects. Requires foundational networking knowledge (Layer 2/3, TCP/IP, NTP/DNS/DHCP/SNMP), familiarity with network automation tooling (Python, Ansible, NetBox), SDN concepts (Cisco ACI, VMware NSX), and enterprise Wi-Fi/UTM concepts; strong emphasis on learning, problem-solving, and collaboration in a structured development path.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a strictly related technical field
- CCNA-level background or equivalent vendor certification/knowledge is highly valued
- Experience or strong interest in network administration and related technologies
- Willingness to learn and grow in a complex enterprise environment
- Knowledge of Linux server environments (RedHat, CentOS, or Ubuntu) and basic infrastructure monitoring concepts
