Job Summary
Junior Sous Chef role in a seasonal, alpine resort setting requiring leadership of the culinary team, overseeing day-to-day back-of-house operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and health standards, and handling administrative duties such as scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and logging. Must support training and development of staff, maintain documentation and logs, and comply with HACCP and health inspections. Strong communication, organizational skills, and computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, HRIS) are essential. Experience in menu costing, planning, analytics, and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced kitchen is highly valued. This is a seasonal, hourly position based in Banff, AB, Canada, with in-person work required.
Required Qualifications
- Food handling certification is required
- Experience as a cook in a fast-paced food service (2-5 years preferred)
- Strong communication & organization skills
- MS WORD and Excel proficiency
- Experience with HRIS systems a plus
- Ability to train and develop staff
- English proficiency (written and verbal)
